Patty is doing great --- she has something going on with her left eye though. She is accumulating eye boogers in just that eye every morning. I have been giving her eye drops but it seems to be a tempoary fix.

Patty is also helping me train. That's right, I am getting into the training business. I am working with obedience and behavioral issues. Agility and Protective training and many other things still need to be better taught to me.

I use Patty with my aggressive clients she is so good and balanced and lets me know if I a dog is really AGGRESSIVE or their is some other issue going on.

Anyways sorry I have not posted in awhile hopefully this summer we will get some pics going up here. Patty is loving her 6th year!!!!!

Patty training, leaping, photos - 1/27/2009

This video is about me and my GSD Patty. More importantly I want to show off the training and how much Patty has improved. It has now been year an a half since I posted a video of her training. Look at both and see the results. She really does not need treats, but I used them to ensure the results. Also I wanted to include pics of Patty's progression who I rescued at 4 YEARS OLD!!!! And is by far one of the most loyal dogs ever. A sterotype that rescue dogs get is that they will not appreciate there owner cause they have not been there since birth. That is WRONG:

Patty was with an elderly lady who fell ill and past. Patty had no where to go and Melody at GSD RESCUE in INDIANA got her. She called me and the rest is history

Everytime Patty hears something from the TV or computer that sounds like any kind of animal she will do this! Meaning dog movies are tough to hear in my household

FIRST SNOW (well kind of)

We have been waiting for snow to get here and all it will do is ice.

Patty has been getting restless because it is so cold we have trouble exercising but when we do attempt to freeze we have fun here are some photos from today. She runs on the treadmill but it does not seem to wear her out. I feel bad for her sometimes as she just wants to play but its COOOOLLLLLD!!!

PATTY'S FIRST POST

HI YA'LL --

My name is Marty and I first wanted to say thank you for coming to see Patty.

I have a blog out there now that is fairly popular, but I felt not appropriate for Patty to be posted. The blog of mine is about sports and good looking women. So if you're into that stop on by clicking here.

Anyways, a little history of my best friend Patty.

May 2006 -- I graduated from college with a degree in accounting, moved back home with the rents to save money

Sept 2006 - My rents move to Florida with a deal to me that I can live in the house at home as long as I take care of it and pay the bills

Late Sept 2006 -- I get lonely. Just got out of relationship and ever since my GSD Tara died when I was 15 I wanted another one.

Oct 2006 - Joined the GSD board who all gave me great advise to not get a PUPPY with my fulltime job and living by myself lifestyle

Dec 2006 - Got in touch with the GSD Rescue of Indiana - Melody!!!! I talked to her for like 3 hours and told her exactly what my lifestyle is like and she promised she would find me the perfect dog

Jan 2007 - Melody calls me and tells me she has the perfect dog for me. I have to come up and see her.

Feb 1, 2007 -- I drive up to Indy from Cincinnati (1.5 Hr drive). My friend and I go and I tell him I just want to see her but I'm not going to bring her home. Why? Because part of my deal with the parents was NO DOG.

Feb 1, 2007 (3 hours later) - I am headed home with my friend with a look on my face. OH CRAP I CAN"T BELIEVE WE ARE TAKING HER HOME. Patty is in the back seat to come with and my home. We head to PetSmart and get all the things we need because we were not prepared to bring her home. Patty is scared shy and not sure. Typical reaction after being rescued. She stays with me for the weekend until....

Feb 3, 2007 --- I have to leave for Indiana on work so she goes and stays with my friend for the weekend.

Late Feb 2007 - She stays with my Dad for the week again because I had to leave for work.

Early March 2007 - I quit my job so I can get a job local to be with my dog. STILL MY MOM AND STEP DAD have no idea Patty is living in our home!!!

April 2007 -- Patty and I are attached at the hip. We sleep and eat together. We go to barber shop. Dog parks. In only took about 3 weeks for us to get real close

April 2007 --- Patty and I get a trainer it goes so well the trainer offers me a job to train with him. I had to sadly decline to study for my CPA test

Early May 2007 -- Expecting my parents arrival from FL for the next 3 months of summer stay I figure I better break the news. Thus my neighbors who all adore Patty break the news for me. And tell them how great of dog she is. NEVER on a leash, always by my side

Late May 2007 -- Parents arrive home and the rest is history. My step father adores Patty and My Mom is in love with Patty and cares more about her than her own SON!!!! Patty is more than welcomed but instead spoiled even more

May 2007 - Oct 2007 --- Patty is part of the family and loves every one. She was very very scared of everyone at first but me. If I wasn't around she would never come out of her cage. Toward October that all changed. She would run the neighborhood door to door to get treats and just greets everyone. She still is very protective me and always aware of her surrondings (Typical GSD)

Oct 2007 - April 2008 --- Just me and Patty again since the rents went back to FL. Took some adjusting both of our lifestyles to get use to just being us and me going to work each day. But we worked it out

January 1st 2008 - Rents are home for Christmas and I suffered an anxiety/depression attack along with seizure that knocked me out conscious during the Rose Bowl. Pass out cold rushed to the hospital with a huge tube down my throat and no one knows what's wrong. (I just broke up with a long term girlfriend and work was stressing me out). To say the least there was no way my rents were leaving the next day for Florida with me just getting out of the hospital. Rents leave after I see a # of docs and am cleared to work again. January and February were real tough for me due to the medicine I was on. To this day I still thank Patty for always keeping me busy and going when all I wanted to do was lay on the couch and feel sorry for myself. (Just to let ya know I recoverd fully, off the medicine and happier than ever!)

Feb 2008 -- Patty turns 5 years old and loving the snow

April 2008 - Patty and I do our first drive to Florida (16 hours from CINCY TO SARASOTA) straight through. Patty and I DID IT. She helped me do it. Never was a problems but Patty did not like the heat but loved the ocean.

Summer of 08 -- Patty got her grandparents home again and loves life the fullest

Thanksgving 08 -- We do the 16 hour drive to FL again. And once again jsut as easy as last time! Great Company

Present - Yup I am 25 livning in a big house all by myself and yes it's my parents. But hey you can beat the rent payment! Patty and I are again having to adjust!

I NEVER HAVE BEEN SO LUCKY WITH PATTY AND I DONT KNOW WHAT I WOULD HAVE DONE WITHOUT HER
